DESCRIPTION

• Betadine Ointment 25 gm is an antiseptic and disinfectant used to treat and prevent skin infections in minor burns, lacerations (deep cut in the skin), cuts, and abrasions (the first layer of skin is scraped off).
• It helps treat infections of the lining of the mouth and throat, such as gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) and mouth ulcers.
• Betadine Ointment 25 gm is also used in infection control during insertion and care of urinary catheters, circumcision (removal of the foreskin from the human penis), suture removal and dressing changes.
• It works by inhibiting the growth of infection-causing microbes.
• Betadine Ointment 25 gm is effective against bacteria (Gram-positive and Gram-negative, including antibiotic-resistant and antiseptic-resistant strains), fungi, viruses, and protozoa.
• Betadine Ointment 25 gm is used in degerming (physical removal of microbes) stasis ulcers (wound on the leg or ankle due to damaged veins), decubitus ulcers (bed sores), and the umbilical area.
• It is also used for degerming the intravenous devices in blood transfusions, hyperalimentation (artificial supply of nutrients), cutdowns, and central venous line.
